Winter Ski Flights Transfer from Chambery to Grenoble
Due to congestion at Chambery Airport, and at the request of the local airport authority, Air Southwest's winter ski flights originally planned to Chambery from Plymouth and Newquay will now operate to nearby Grenoble Airport.
Grenoble is surrounded by mountains in an enviable location at the foot of the Dauphine Alps. As a geographical crossroads and undoubtedly a major Gateway to Alpine skiing, Grenoble is the ideal airport to reach some of the best resorts in Europe. Three impressive ski regions are within close proximity to Grenoble; Isere for Les Deux Alpes and Alpe D'Huez, Savoie for La Plagne, Val Thorens and Meribel and Haute-Savoie for Morzine and Chamonix. Many more top ski resorts are just a short transfer from Grenoble Airport.
Grenoble Airport has a wider range of facilities than Chambery Airport, and is also less prone to flight delays during the busy ski season.
The new flights to Grenoble will be moved to an earlier time, making the new schedule more convenient for customers transferring to and from the ski resorts. Arrival time in Grenoble is 1310, with departure at 1340, from 20th December 2008 to 28th March 2009.
Those customers affected by this change of destination airport will be contacted individually by Air Southwest to arrange amendment of their bookings.
Any customers who have booked car rental with Air Southwest's car hire partner Avis can have their car booking transferred to Grenoble at no charge by e-mailing
reservation-queries@airsouthwest.com, including both flight and car hire booking references.
